Eligibility requirements to be part of the team.
- Ages 10 to 18
- Current Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club Inc. Membership (or pending at registration)
- Current USA Archery Membership (or pending at registration)
- Will need own Equipment, if not owned currently a plan to purchase
- Commit to attend once a week practices, unless excused.
- Thursday Nights 7:00pm – 9:00pm
- Check Club’s Master Schedule for Changes
- Make a commitment to compete and travel with team, unless excused.
Team Member’s Financial Commitment’s
- Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club Jr Membership $3.00 per year
- $9.00 Application fee for a new Jr membership, if not a member already
- USA Archery Junior Membership $50.00 annually
- Weekly practice donation $10.00, helps to defray club costs
- Team Shirts – Funded through the JOAD Team
- Travel & Registration Fees for competitions (Varies and TBD)

Introducing Denise Shirk,
JOAD Director & Head Coach
for the Competitive JOAD Team
- Level 3 NTS Coach, USA Archery, since February 2008
- Certified Coach Trainer, Levels 1 & 2
- United States Archery Team Member – Master Compound – 2018
- Multiple State and National titles
Denise Shirk is the Director and Head Coach for the newly established Ontelaunee Archers JOAD Competitive Team.
Denise comes to us with over 40 years competitive archery experience shooting a compound bow and over 15 years of coaching experience.
She has coached several successful JOAD archery programs in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County area, over the past 10 years and has been successful introducing several state and national indoor and outdoor champions.
She started coaching her first JOAD program in Reading, PA in 2008 as a Level 1 coach and obtained her Level 3 NTS certification by 2012.
Coaching is one of Denise’s passions, as she loves to pass along her own knowledge and experience as an archer to others.
In 2018, Denise was named to the USA Archery USAT (United States Archery Team) for the compound bow in her age category and currently pursuing the team again in 2023. She also podiumed at the Lancaster Classic in 2022 in one of the largest indoor tournaments in the country.
